  TSOG (FEAST) PRACTICE
  
• The Tibetan calendar is a lunar calendar, and certain days each month are associated with specific deities or Buddhas. Tsog (or tsok) practice is performed on these special days as an offering to the deity or Buddha associated with that date on the lunar calendar.
  
• According to the Vajrayana tradition, offering tsog -- a ritual feast in which the most precious and sacred items of the senses, including food, flowers, incense, are offered -- is the most profound method of accumulating merit and wisdom, purifying negativity, and through the associated Guru Yoga practice, developing True View, the way to directly accomplish enlightenment. The special qualities associated with tsog make one moment of tsog practice equal to eons of accumulation by other methods. Tsog is a powerful means of confessing downfalls in our samaya, of liberating obstacles, and of fulfilling the wisdom minds of the lama, yidams, dakinis and dharma protectors.
  
• Please bring an offering of food, juice or wine, which will be blessed in the ceremony and shared by all. Tsog practice begins at 8 p.m. (unless it falls on a Sunday, and then it is combined with regular Sunday morning practice).
